Whisky Smash

 

Ingredients:

• Half a lemon, cut into wedges
• 5 Fresh mint leaves
• 3/4oz (22ml) Simple syrup (from demerara sugar if you can get it)
• 2oz (60ml) Bourbon
• Garnish: Mint sprig
• Ice: Crushed
• Glass: Old Fashioned

Instructions:

1. Place lemon in mixing tin and muddle well
2. Add remaining ingredients and shake hard over ice
3. Double strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice
4. Top with crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig

Gold Rush

Ingredients:

• 2oz (60ml) Bourbon
• 3/4oz (22ml) Honey Syrup*
• 3/4oz (22ml) Lemon Juice

*Honey Syrup

• Mix equal parts hot water and honey
• Stir and leave to cool

Instructions:

1. Add all ingredients to a mixing tin and shake over ice
2. Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass
3. Garnish with lemon twist
